Pay scales for supply teachers

Daily pay rates for supply teachers from 1 September 2023

The table below sets out the daily rates for supply teachers employed by local authorities or schools at each STPCD pay scale point, calculated on the basis of 1/195 of the appropriate full-time pay rate. 

They are provided for guidance for those employed directly in schools (while academies are not subject to the STPCD, the NEU recommends the same pay rates should be paid by academies). They also serve as an indication of the gap between agency pay rates and those that would apply if teachers did not have to work via agencies.
